New York A02462 amends the executive law to create designated parking spaces at state buildings and facilities for recipients of the Purple Heart award. These spaces must be close to the state agency or facility and reasonably distributed for convenient access. Parking spaces must conform to the Americans with Disabilities Act dimensions and be clearly marked for Purple Heart recipients, including signs and possibly painted lines or markings. Each facility can have up to two designated vehicles. The law takes effect 90 days after it becomes a statute.
