Allows for the creation of a joint police department for the towns of Webb and Inlet.
This bill allows the town boards of Webb and Inlet to create a joint police department, subject to voter approval and county governing body support. The joint department will hold title to all property currently held by the individual police departments of Webb and Inlet. Local laws must establish rules and regulations, including appointment of a chief of police, funding, titles for officers and employees, and employment coordination. Either town can dissolve the joint department with a four-fifths vote, resulting in asset division between the towns.
