New York City boards of elections cannot contract with non-union labor for election services.
The bill amends the New York City charter to prohibit the city boards of elections from entering into contracts with entities that do not employ union labor for election-related services. These services include the preparation, design, printing, mailing, distribution, delivery, processing, or counting of ballots, affidavits, petitions, applications, or other materials involved in the conduct of elections and the canvass of results. The prohibition takes effect immediately.
