The commissioner, in consultation with the department of education and the office of addiction services and supports, will establish and review training standards. Training must include state and federal requirements for prescribing controlled substances, pain management, appropriate prescribing, managing acute pain, palliative medicine, prevention and screening of substance use disorder, responses to abuse and addiction, and end-of-life care.
