New York A01708 amends the public health law to establish payment rates for diagnostic, emergency, inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and ambulatory services provided by rural hospitals designated as critical access hospitals. Effective April 1, 2027, these rates will be set at 101% of the reasonable costs of providing such services. Reasonable costs will be determined in a manner consistent with the method used for outpatient critical access hospital services under the federal social security act.
