A01689 amends the county law to require the district attorney in each county to appoint at least one assistant district attorney responsible for overseeing the prosecution of animal crimes. This includes, but is not limited to, animal crimes committed in violation of article twenty-six of the agriculture and markets law. The act will take effect on the ninetieth day after it becomes law.
