Authorizes certain officials to visit mental health facilities.
The bill amends the mental hygiene law to allow the governor, lieutenant-governor, commissioner of general services, secretary of state, comptroller, attorney general, and members of the legislature to visit any facility designated by the commissioner of mental health for care and treatment. These officials must notify the facility director before visiting. The director can deny a visit if it would interfere with therapeutic activities or facility management. The act takes effect 90 days after becoming law.
