New York A01444 amends the agriculture and markets law to allow an agricultural assessment for an entire parcel of land if at least 85% is used for agricultural production. This change applies regardless of whether the remaining portion of the parcel is used for agricultural purposes. To qualify, the owner must file an application for the assessment. This act takes effect immediately.
