Establishes a mandatory training curriculum for election commissioners and key staff of boards of elections.
This bill amends the election law to require election commissioners and other board of elections employees to complete a mandatory training curriculum within six months of their first appointment. The curriculum, established by the state board of elections in consultation with election commissioners, must not exceed thirty hours of instruction. Additionally, these individuals must complete an annual continuing course of instruction before June 1st. The state board of elections will provide the training through a web-based recorded format, among other methods.
