New York A01027 amends the cannabis law to require the development and implementation of a comprehensive public health and education campaign. This campaign will focus on the legalization of adult-use cannabis and its impact on public health and safety. The office, in consultation with the department of health, office of addiction services and supports, and office of mental health, will develop this campaign. It will include education on the dangers of cannabinoid use and the risks of procuring cannabis products from unlicensed sources. The act takes effect immediately.
