New York A00525 amends the social services law to allow certain adult care facilities to provide non-continual nursing services. These facilities can arrange for nursing services either by contracting with a provider or by employing nursing staff. The services must not be continual and must comply with admission and retention standards. Operators must notify the Department of Health as per the department's requirements. Facilities cannot represent themselves as enhanced assisted living residences or aging-in-place facilities unless permitted by law. The act takes effect immediately.
