New York A00493 allows a supreme court judge to consider and issue additional orders of protection during extreme risk protection order proceedings.
New York A00493 amends the civil practice law and rules to allow a supreme court judge hearing a petition for an "extreme risk protection order" to also consider and issue a regular order of protection under the criminal procedure law, the domestic relations law, and/or the family court act. If the court finds such an order warranted, it may issue it during the same proceeding. This act takes effect immediately.
