The "Electric Vehicle Infrastructure and Liability Act" mandates additional fees from electric vehicle owners and operators. It requires a registration fee of $200 for non-commercial electric vehicles and $400 for commercial ones. Ten percent of the collected fees will fund training programs for first responders on electric vehicle fires and public awareness campaigns. Ninety percent will go to the dedicated highway bridge and trust fund. The act also establishes an additional electric passenger vehicle user fee for tolling roads and bridges.
