This bill amends the family court act, criminal procedure law, and education law to require the court to notify a child's school of an order of protection or temporary order of protection on the same day of issuance. The notification must be sent to the school superintendent, school district superintendent, building principal, and/or other school administrator. The bill also specifies that the presentation of such an order to the school does not impose any duty of care greater than what is legally required.
