New York A00048 amends the estates, powers and trusts law to prohibit a distributive share in the estate of a decedent from passing to a person convicted of committing or attempting to commit a sex offense where the victim was the decedent. If a person is disqualified from taking a distributive share, the estate will be distributed as though such person had predeceased the decedent. This act takes effect on January 1 of the next succeeding date it becomes law.
