Maryland SB878 amends the Health – General Article to require the Department of Health to conduct at least two unannounced on-site inspections of each certified recovery residence annually. If deficiencies are found, the Department must notify the residence and allow a month for remediation. If corrective actions are not taken, the Department can direct the credentialing entity to revoke the residence's certification. The credentialing entity can also revoke certification if the residence fails to meet requirements or if directed by the Department.
