The bill establishes the Interjurisdictional Safe Pathways Commission to identify, coordinate, and secure funding for safe pathways for students traveling to and from school. The Commission includes representatives from local school systems, municipal local management boards, students, parents, and private or nonprofit organizations. The Commission will conduct an inventory of current safe pathways, identify gaps, develop a strategic plan, and recommend policies to maximize funding. The Commission will submit an annual report to the Governor and relevant legislative committees.
