Maryland SB588 provides lifetime complimentary hunting and fishing licenses to certain veterans and former prisoners of war.
Maryland SB588 allows the Department of Natural Resources to issue lifetime complimentary hunting and fishing licenses to Maryland residents and out-of-state individuals who are former prisoners of war, unemployable veterans, or 100% service-connected disabled veterans. These licenses are non-transferable and issued without fee. The bill also permits the issuance of annual complimentary recreational oyster licenses to blind individuals and limits the number of outstanding licenses. The Department must compile statistics on the issuance of these licenses.
