Maryland SB503 establishes the Growing Family Child Care Opportunities Program to provide grants for local child care initiatives. County governing bodies must partner with child care resource centers to apply for grants. The Maryland Department of Education administers the program in partnership with the Maryland Child Care Resource Network. Funding is available for fiscal years 2023, 2024, 2026, and 2028 through 2030. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
