Maryland SB50, known as the Fairness in Girls' Sports Act, requires interscholastic and intramural junior varsity and varsity athletic teams and sports to be designated as either boys', girls', or coeducational. It prohibits girls' teams from including male students. The act also prevents governmental entities, licensing organizations, or state and federal agencies from taking adverse actions against schools for maintaining separate teams for female students. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
