Maryland SB436 modifies sentencing rules for minors convicted as adults. Courts may impose sentences less than the minimum term required by law. If the victim previously committed a sex crime or human trafficking against the minor, the court may transfer the minor to juvenile court for sentencing. The juvenile court must then make a juvenile disposition. This Act takes effect October 1, 2026.
