Maryland Energy Administration to study land-based wind energy potential and mitigation efforts.
The Maryland Energy Administration is mandated to conduct a comprehensive study on land-based wind energy generating systems within the state. The study will assess the total potential for such energy generation, identify locations used for this assessment, and explore successful mitigation efforts allowing wind energy systems to coexist with military radar technologies. The Administration may utilize funds from the Maryland Strategic Energy Investment Fund for this study. Findings and recommendations must be reported to the Governor by December 1, 2026.
