Maryland SB304 amends the insurance laws to prevent insurers from canceling or refusing to renew private passenger motor vehicle insurance coverage if two or fewer claims within the preceding three-year period were for accidents or losses where the insured was not at fault. It also prohibits insurers from increasing a premium, adding a surcharge, or removing, altering, or refusing to consider a discount based on accidents or losses caused by collisions with free-roaming wild animals for which the insured was not at fault. The changes will take effect on October 1, 2026.
