Judicial Compensation Commission - Recommendations

Introduced·1/28/26

Maryland HJ6 establishes new judicial salaries and stipends for certain judges beginning July 1, 2026.

Maryland HJ6 sets new judicial salaries for various positions, effective July 1, 2026. It also provides an annual stipend of $7,500 for the Chief Judge of the Appellate Court and administrative judges for fiscal years 2027 through 2030. The Judicial Compensation Commission, appointed by the Governor, reviewed and recommended these changes. The General Assembly may not reduce judicial salaries but can amend the resolution to decrease salary recommendations.
