Maryland HB836 amends the state's education law to ensure county boards of education cannot charge students or their parents fees for enrollment in or completion of competitive entry college preparatory programs. These programs include the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, the Cambridge AICE Diploma Program, or comparable programs consisting of Advanced Placement courses specified by the College Board. The bill takes effect July 1, 2026.
