Maryland HB773 establishes registration rules for historic and street rod vehicles.
Maryland HB773 defines historic motor vehicles as those at least a certain age used in exhibitions, club activities, parades, tours, and occasional transportation, exempt from daily or commercial use. Street rod vehicles are older, substantially altered from their original design. The bill sets one-time registration fees for historic vehicles and annual fees for street rod vehicles, exempting both from periodic inspections and emission controls unless required by statute. The act applies only to vehicles registered after its effective date of July 1, 2026.
