This exemption applies to institutions accredited by a body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education that are established for religious educational purposes, provide programs only for religious vocations, and offer sectarian instruction. Institutions authorized to operate in Maryland before January 1, 2013, are also exempt. The changes take effect July 1, 2026.
