Maryland HB1511 creates a State Clearinghouse for Missing Persons, operated by the Department of State, to publish information on missing individuals and annual statistics. The Clearinghouse may also maintain a list of organizations and groups that provide volunteer search teams or resources. The Department of State Police will study its capacity to report missing persons information to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System and report findings to the Governor and General Assembly by December 1, 2026. The Act takes effect October 1, 2026.
