Maryland HB1433 modifies the definition of "supervisory employee" for collective bargaining purposes in community colleges. It specifies that a supervisory employee is one who has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline employees, directs employees for more than 50% of their working hours, and addresses and resolves employee complaints. The definition excludes department heads, employees in comparable positions, and faculty members below the level of assistant dean. This change takes effect July 1, 2026.
