Georgia HB67 proposes a homestead exemption from City of Rome ad valorem taxes for municipal purposes. The exemption amount is determined annually using the proceeds of a new 1 percent Local Homestead Option Sales Tax within Floyd County. If approved by voters, the exemption will apply to all taxable years from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2039. The exemption applies to all ad valorem taxes imposed by the city and is in addition to any other homestead exemptions. The election for approval of this Act will be conducted on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November, 2026.
