Webster County proposes a homestead exemption from ad valorem taxes, funded by a new Local Homestead Option Sales Tax. If approved by voters, the exemption will apply to the assessed value of homestead property. The exemption is subject to annual renewal and applies to taxable years starting January 1, 2027, and ending December 31, 2039. The sales tax will be imposed within the special district conterminous with Webster County. The exemption applies to all portions of real property within the special district and is in addition to any other homestead exemptions.
