Authorizes the City of Pooler to levy an excise tax on accommodations to fund tourism and product development.

This bill allows the City of Pooler to impose an excise tax on accommodations provided by hotels, motels, and other lodging facilities. The tax rate can be up to 6 percent. The revenue generated will be used for tourism promotion, conventions, trade shows, and tourism product development. Any excess funds beyond what would be collected at a 5 percent rate will also be allocated for tourism product development. The bill specifies that any conflicting laws are repealed.
