Georgia HB1 proposes a homestead exemption from City of Dublin ad valorem taxes for residents of a special district based on the proceeds of a new Local Homestead Option Sales Tax. The exemption applies to all ad valorem taxes imposed by the city for all purposes. The exemption is in addition to any other homestead exemption applicable to the homestead property. The exemption applies to taxable years beginning on January 1 of the year subsequent to the approval of this Act and ending on December 31, 2039.
