Mr. Booker submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions
RESOLUTION
Expressing support for the designation of October 2026 as “Lewy Body Dementia Awareness Month”.
- (1) expresses support for the designation of the month of October 2026 as “Lewy Body Dementia Awareness Month”;
- (2) seeks to increase—
- (A) awareness and understanding of Lewy body dementia;
- (B) advocates for individuals and families affected by the disease; and
- (C) compassion, dignity, and hope for all those living with Lewy body dementia;
- (3) continues to support research to diagnose Lewy body dementia and find better treatments and a cure for Lewy body dementia;
- (4) recognizes the individuals living with Lewy body dementia and their care partners who participate in vital clinical trials to advance the knowledge of the disease; and
- (5) commends the dedication of organizations, volunteers, researchers, healthcare professionals, and millions of individuals across the United States working to improve the quality of life of people living with Lewy body dementia and their families.
