This bill authorizes the use of the Capitol rotunda for the lying in state of the remains of former President James Earl Carter, Jr. from January 7, 2025, until January 9, 2025. It also directs the Architect of the Capitol to transfer a catafalque from the Capitol Visitor Center to the rotunda for use during services. The Architect of the Capitol will carry out these actions under the direction of the Senate Majority Leader and the Speaker of the House.
