Prescription Information Modernization Act of 2026 allows FDA-approved drug prescribing information to be communicated digitally.
The Prescription Information Modernization Act of 2026 amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to allow required prescribing information for drugs to be made available solely by electronic means. The Secretary of Health and Human Services must issue regulations to implement this change and minimize economic impacts on prescribers and dispensers. The amendment applies to drugs introduced or delivered for introduction into interstate commerce two years after enactment or upon the effective date of the final regulations, whichever is sooner.
