Enhancing Electric Grid Resilience Act authorizes cost allocation for certain transmission facilities.
The Enhancing Electric Grid Resilience Act amends the Federal Power Act to allow entities to file tariffs for allocating costs of transmission facilities of national significance. These facilities must either have a transmission capacity of at least 1,000 megawatts or increase capacity by at least 500 megawatts. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission must ensure that costs are allocated to customers based on anticipated benefits, including reliability, economic, public policy, resilience, and environmental factors.
