The Welcome Back to the Health Care Workforce Act authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants to eligible entities for career support of internationally educated health care professionals. These professionals must have completed education for a health care profession in another country and be lawfully admitted for permanent residence or granted asylum. Grants support system-level improvements, such as establishing networks of partners and developing peer support, and individual-level improvements, including licensing support and career counseling.
