Introduced·6/17/26

Extends the Department of Veterans Affairs' pilot program on accepting donated facilities and services, making it permanent.

The CHIP IN for Veterans Act of 2026 makes permanent the Department of Veterans Affairs' pilot program on accepting donated facilities and related improvements. It also authorizes the acceptance of donations of construction services, minor construction, nonrecurring maintenance projects, and targeted contributions. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs can accept donations that align with needs identified in strategic planning documents or capital needs inventories, provided they do not increase federal costs and meet other criteria.
