The Honor Gold Star Families Act amends title 10, United States Code, to double the death gratuity for families of deceased members of the Armed Forces from $100,000 to $200,000. This change applies to deaths occurring on or after January 1, 2026. Additionally, the Act mandates annual cost-of-living adjustments to the death gratuity starting from January 1, 2027, based on the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
