The Curbing Online Non-consensual Sexually Explicit Nudity Transfers Act, also known as the CONSENT Act, establishes a private right of action against individuals or entities that knowingly transmit intimate visual depictions without consent. This includes depictions created through digital forgery, which are indistinguishable from authentic depictions. Recipients, or their legal guardians if they are minors, can bring a civil action for statutory or compensatory damages, attorney fees, and costs. Exceptions apply for good faith medical, educational, or law enforcement purposes.
