The PETSAFE Act amends federal disaster relief acts to support emergency preparedness and response efforts for companion animals.

The PETSAFE Act amends the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006 and the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to enhance emergency preparedness and response efforts for companion animals. It allows states, local, and tribal governments to use grant funds for activities supporting companion animals, including purchasing collapsible crates, mobile equipment trailers, pet supplies, veterinary medical supplies, emergency sheltering equipment, emergency generators, and disaster response software.
