The FAIR Labels Act of 2026 amends the Federal Meat Inspection Act and the Poultry Products Inspection Act to ensure consumers can distinguish between meat, poultry, and cell-cultivated protein products. It requires labels on cell-cultivated protein products to prominently state "cell-cultivated" and clarify that they are not derived from live animals. Plant-based alternative protein products must also be labeled with "plant-based alternative protein product."
