The Geothermal Ombudsman for National Deployment and Optimal Reviews Act appoints a Geothermal Ombudsman within the Bureau of Land Management to act as a liaison between field offices and applicants for geothermal authorizations. The Ombudsman may also pay retention allowances to employees assisting with geothermal authorizations. The Act establishes a Geothermal Permitting Task Force headed by the Ombudsman to support permit processing practices, develop best practices, and coordinate with the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council.
