The Rural America Health Corps Act establishes a demonstration program to provide payments on eligible loans for individuals who are eligible for the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program. Eligible individuals must be willing to serve five years in a rural health professional shortage area. Payments are made for each year of service and upon completion of the fifth year. The Secretary of Health and Human Services will submit a report on the program's effects on health care access in rural areas five years after enactment.
