The program prioritizes projects in regions with limited geothermal electricity generation, supports data collection to de-risk future projects, and aims to catalyze innovation through milestone-based financing. The Secretary of Energy will request proposals from project sponsors, awarding at least three different proposals in three different states and to three different sponsors.
