S.4096

SB4096 modifies rural decentralized water systems grants to increase funding and extend the program's duration.

SB4096 amends the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act to change the rural decentralized water systems grants program. It raises the maximum grant amount from $15,000 to $20,000 and allows subgrants to cover the cost of a 5-year performance warranty. The bill also extends the program's duration from 2023 to 2031. Nonprofit organizations can provide these grants and loans to individuals in rural areas, targeting those with incomes between 60% and 100% of the median nonmetropolitan household income.
