The Diabetes Foot Health Access and Modernization Act of 2026 amends the Social Security Act to ensure Medicaid beneficiaries have access to quality foot and ankle care by recognizing podiatric physicians as physicians under the Medicaid program. It also modifies Medicare requirements for diabetic shoes, requiring documentation from a physician that the individual has peripheral neuropathy, a history of foot ulcers, foot deformity, or poor circulation, and that they need such shoes.
