S.4054

Expands American history and civics education activities in schools.

The Every Student is a Citizen Act amends the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to expand American history and civics education activities. It includes hands-on civic engagement activities, mock elections, model congresses, and discussions on the history and principles of the Constitution. The bill also incorporates activities about under-represented Americans' participation in the democratic process, service learning, and community-service projects. It authorizes $40,000,000 annually for these initiatives.
