Mr. Young (for himself, Ms. Cantwell, Mrs. Blackburn, and Mr. Hickenlooper) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation

A BILL

To establish artificial intelligence standards, metrics, and evaluation tools, to support artificial intelligence research, development, and capacity building activities, to promote innovation in the artificial intelligence industry by ensuring companies of all sizes can succeed and thrive, and for other purposes.

1. Short title; table of contents; 2. Sense of Congress; TITLE I—VOLUNTARY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE STANDARDS, METRICS, EVALUATION TOOLS, TESTBEDS, AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION; 100. Definitions; 101. Center for Artificial Intelligence Standards and Innovation; 102. Interagency coordination and program to facilitate artificial intelligence testbeds; 103. National Institute of Standards and Technology and Department of Energy testbed to identify, test, and synthesize new materials; 104. Coordination, reimbursement, and savings provisions; 105. Progress report; 111. International coalitions on innovation, development, and alignment of standards with respect to artificial intelligence; 121.
